| Episode 3 Demise of the TY | ||||
| The TY50 I owned holds the record for the fastest time between Aboyne and Ballater ( for a 49cc bike) a distance of 12 miles covered in under 10 minutes easily on both runs there and back. I was however very hungry and hungover and so was the rest of our campsite at Aboyne Loch. and there was a bakery open in Ballater. So it had to be done. It wasnt thrillseeking, it was a severe case of the munchies. Anyhow, on that fine morn, we worked out the TY did that run at an average speed of around 65, Which for a machine supposed to be restricted to 30mph is pretty shit hot. Yep. The TY50 was the mutt's nuts. (note: helping factors in this amazing achievement include the fact it was 9am on a sunday morning right after the Aboyne games and there was no traffic whatsoever plus I did the whole thing 'head to tank' and the tank was almost empty, in fact I lost a few seconds on the way back when I had to switch to reserve and it slowed down when the main tank ran out) Everybody broke their fast on hot pies and Rowies upon my return. Yes readers, I had my shit together. Thats how one brings it. Later that year Tufty and I found ourselves at Glen Tannar without a light, but the TY provideth. LO! did it nae just give forth petrol from the tank to the unscrewed spark plug, and then did by way of thon HT lead did the plug igniteth with flame upon the holding to the cylinder head and kicking of the kick starty pedal. and yay we did then smoke up. Good times. The TY's frame and wheels were binned one day during an overhaul by a bald headed bearded cunt of a manager of Bieldside stores. and that was the end of the TY. I still have the cylinder somewhere, but all the other parts were either sold off or stolen from me. and that was where the TY ended. it will never again ride the streets of Aberdeen. but somewhere, and god knows where, The Frame Remains The Same.
